Our Approach

The Group’s head offices are located in Harlingen and Yerseke, the factory in Yerseke with the main focus on the production of fresh shellfish is situated in the shellfish center of  Northern Europe with fast distribution to the main markets of Lenger. In Harlingen Lenger has developed a strong shellfish production with a main focus on canning, de-sanding and storage capacity. Furthermore, Harlingen has the advantage of being situated on close distance to the source. These two locations ensure that Lenger is active in what for centuries have been the two most important shellfish grounds in the Netherlands, The Wadden Sea and the Easterscheldt.

OUR FINESSE

De-sanding & Process

After the catch, the raw materials go directly to one of our de-sanding and processing stations. This step in the process largely determines the quality of our product. Here, we clean the shells and process them into an end product. To get a maximum result out of this, we have developed our own shellfish production lines. The total sum of this requires finesse in both the depuration, processing and packaging techniques, disciplines which we master.

Food Safety

Quality for Lenger Seafoods is not only meeting customer expectations, but it’s also all about having pride in producing safe food every time, recognizing that a good quality product must be safe to eat. Fishing in monitored and safe fishing areas, processing techniques specially designed to optimize the food safety and quality of our products, a hygienic environment and everyone (owners, managers, employees) in our business thinks and acts in their daily job to make sure the food we make is safe. All our employees are frequently trained in food safety and work passionately on a safe and healthy product. A team of Quality Officers is continuously involved in checks and tests at all our locations. This enables us to really guarantee food safety and quality from source to shelf. All of this is reflected in the internationally recognized BRC and IFS certificates on the highest levels.

Lenger Seafoods Group facilitates Private Label productions for its customers and the Group runs  its own brands like Du Nord, Van Smirren, Parsons and La Bigorne.

Our Du Nord range contains everything that Lenger Seafoods has developed since 1925, tradition and family are the signature of the products which The Lenger Seafoods Group will continue to sell to the market.
